Consistency is Hard

There is no such thing as 'not enough time'. There is only what you are choosing to prioritise at any given moment.

Unfortunately, the most important trait for success in most things, is also the most challenging to stick to. Consistency, whether it be USMLE studying, or creating YouTube videos, is the key to success.

It was knowing this, that made the decision not to upload a video this week all the more difficult. It would be most convenient at this point to make the excuse that I just "didn't have time" to make a video. However it is in times like these that my most important life mantra has been ringing ever more true.

There is no such thing as 'not enough time'. There is only what you are choosing to prioritise at any given moment.

Time prioritisation is hard, but I have found it much more empowering to reframe my perspective from: I didn't have time, to: I couldn't/didn't prioritise that this week. This mindset gives you space for reflection on how you spent your time that week, and allows you to either change, or be at peace, rather than stressing that there don't seem to be enough hours in the day (see: there never are ;)

This is all to say that I chose to prioritise USMLE over the channel this week. From this shift in mindset I reached a compromise - I would reshoot the thumbnails for my most popular YouTube videos. I was extremely proud of the videos themselves but the thumbnails are, quite frankly, awful.

So here we are, many apologies if you were waiting for an upload this week - more USMLE content next Sunday, so stay tuned!

Oh, and cramfighter gave me my very first retweet! Which was a pretty cool moment tbh, if you're new and you have no idea what I'm talking about, check out my review of cramfighter on the channel!

PS: from now on, I'm going to start tracking our growth on the channel and this newsletter, to document how long it actually takes to grow an online presence as an average IMG! I shamelessly ripped this off from Zach Highley so be sure to check out his channel and newsletter!
